Glimpse of the Job

The Logistics Coordinator will work in close consultation with the college associate dean for infrastructure, college information technology, and college property control to coordinate logistics, procurement, inventory location, and records retention as it relates to technology and equipment management. This position will coordinate and manage the procurement of workstation refreshment programs and software licensing, as well as equipment relocation documentation and college policy guidance.

Opportunities to Contribute:

  • Coordinate and manage workstation refreshment programs in consultation with college IT

  • Purchase all items of supported IT equipment and software.

  • Liaise with vendors to secure quotes, savings, and efficiency.

  • Liaise with Texas A&M Division and System entities related to software and services.

  • Guide faculty, staff and student purchasing to maintain policy and standards compliance.

  • Research trusted equipment trends for classroom technology.

  • Assess departmental inventory for aging equipment and work with IT professionals to address.

  • Assist college research personnel with acquiring research equipment.

  • Assess classroom technology with IT professionals to maintain modern equipment, optimal performance, and security.

  • Assist with technology inventory control and asset tracking.

  • Execute changes in Canopy as per digital equipment relocation forms.

  • Maintain records of equipment relocation, purchased software, renewals.

  • Maintain lists of software that must be renewed.

  • Research emerging technologies, best practices and common issues and communicate to colleagues.

  • Participate in training and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of related experience.

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 30lbs.

  • Ability to move and/or navigate about buildings and throughout campus.

  • Ability to move and/or navigate in cramped spaces and to work in hot and dusty environments.

  • Ability to occasionally ascend and descend a ladder.

  • Occasionally required to work in outdoor weather conditions.

A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

  • Working knowledge of FAMIS/Canopy, TAMU AggieBuy and HUB requirements and vendor contracts

  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software, operating systems and applications

  • Knowledge of governmental and higher education operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of customers and coworkers.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
